Our excellent track record in gov’t is what will win the NPP the 2024 elections – Competent Bawumia

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has declared that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will win the 2024 general elections.
He stated that the strong track record of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led administration will serve as the foundation for this.
Dr. Bawumia highlighted a distinction between the NPP and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) while speaking at the NPP’s International Women’s Conference in the United Kingdom (UK).
The Covid-19 pandemic, which struck the entire world in late 2019, “wreaked havoc on all economies of the world from 2020 until date, affected global supply chains, and the response put a burden on public finances,” Dr. Bawumia said in his speech.

“Inflation, exchange rate depreciation and debt levels globally hit a 40 year high as countries scrambled to cope with the impact on lives and livelihoods. In Ghana, inflation increased from 12.9% in December 2021 to 54% by December 2022 with an attendant depreciation of the Ghana cedi by 30% in 2022”.
“These crises (COVID and Russia-Ukraine) came at a time when we were yet to fully recover from some major challenges we inherited. In particular, we inherited excess energy capacity payments resulting from power purchase agreements entered into by the previous 4 government” Dr Bawumia said.

In his statement, the Vice President emphasised the message of possibility that has been the theme of his recent addresses. According to him, the opposition NDC is made up of people who have “shackled mindsets who always think in terms of things being impossible to do,” and that the NPP as a party and as a government is “dealing politically with people with those mindsets.”

“When you try to move the country forward with new ideas, they mask their ignorance by mocking you, ridiculing you and calling you a liar. But in the process, they only expose their lack of understanding of the issues.
“My response to them is to stay focused, not get angry but rather make it happen! That is the best victory you can have over the naysayers! Make what they think is impossible possible! What we have been able to accomplish so far shows that it is possible for Ghana to achieve many things that some believe to be impossible” Dr Bawumia said.
“With what we have done and continue doing in the wake of the global challenges, the outcome, thus far, points to an auspicious future” Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia added.

Dr. Bawumia called on all well-meaning Ghanaian to judge the two main political parties (NPP & NDC) by what they did while in office and not what they say when they are out in office.

NPP Diaspora group endorses the competent Bawumia

Source

The vice president’s bid to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2024 elections has received the support of the party’s overseas supporters.
The “Diaspora4Bawumia” organisation is pleading with their party’s delegates to support Dr. Bawumia, who will be running for president alongside his wife, the Second Lady Samira Bawumia.
They think the couple will make outstanding leaders who will significantly improve Ghana.
They also believed the Second Lady is the kind of instrumental woman that the nation needs to support her husband to bring development.

NPP CAMPAIGN 2024: VOTE BAWUMIA, GET SAMIRA FREED

In the realm of potential first ladies actively engaged in campaign platforms for either the NPP or NDC, Samira Bawumia stands out alongside Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings. Her captivating presence ignited tremendous enthusiasm during the NPP rallies of the 2016 and 2020 campaigns. The 2024 campaign would be very exciting to have Samira Bawumia going after Mahama as a potential First Lady. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia must win the NPP’s presidential primaries to make this happen.

NDC ran more efficient campaigns when Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu led separate teams to criss-cross the whole country. While Rawlings led a group of party stalwarts in the south, Nana Konadu met women in the north with her 31st December Women’s Wing of the party. Those were crowd-pulling days for NDC, and their rallies were ecstatic with party supporters and floating voters. However, with Dr Bawumia and Samira, the table turns in favour of the NPP.

In 2020, Mahama leveraged his female vice-presidential candidate to gain more support from women, akin to Nana Konadu’s contributions to Rawlings and the NDC. With Dr Bawumia as the presidential candidate, Samira’s efforts will intensify to counter Jane Naana’s campaign in the event she partners with Mahama again. Moreover, if Jane does not join forces with Mahama in the 2024 elections, Samira will make deeper inroads into NDC’s strongholds. None of the ten presidential candidates possesses a dynamic campaigning spouse capable of executing this strategic endeavour to break the eight.

Samira’s youthful charisma, persuasive abilities, and fashionable allure will attract the gatherings of young Ghanaians, particularly young women. Her influence will be instrumental in winning over Zongo women, galvanizing support from the youth, and appealing to the general voting populace on behalf of the NPP. A remarkable surge of lady-led campaign groups will emerge to rally behind Samira, promoting Dr Bawumia and the NPP. She will not only be a firebrand campaigner for her husband and the party but also an essential asset in Dr Bawumia’s potential presidency.

Ghana is poised to witness an exceptional duo reminiscent of the experience of Barack and Michelle Obama as the first gentleman and first lady. It would be an experience to behold. Dr Bawumia must win, and this is re-echoed in the voice of the Diaspora.

Ghana is the best destination for investment and number one for business — Competent Bawumia

Source

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has emphasized that Ghana remains the most favorable investment destination in the West African Sub-region despite the economic difficulties.

His comments follow the $3 billion in assistance the International Monetary Fund (IMF) provided, which the Ghanaian president hopes would help stabilize the country’s economy.

Dr. Bawumia gave assurance that investors that pick Ghana as their investment destination won’t be sorry they did.

He discussed Ghana’s advantages as a centre for investments when speaking to attendees at the Ghana Investment Summit in the UK.

He noted the country’s law-abiding citizens, educated and literate people, and vibrant young population as important elements that make Ghana an alluring location for investment.

He declared, “We have a law-abiding, politically stable, educated, and vibrant young population that is highly read. It is the top location for conducting business over the past ten years and one of West Africa’s shining spots for investments.

John Mahama, the NDC’s candidate for president in the general elections of 2024, has stated that Ghana is not only one of the greatest countries in West Africa for conducting business.

He thinks that because of the economic uncertainty experienced under the current administration, foreign investors in West Africa do not favor Ghana as a regional base.

He said that the bank collapses were the result of personal grudges on the part of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration headed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

As some factors impeding business growth, he listed rising electricity and water rates, high inflation, and the depreciation of the local currency. He also noted that multinational corporations were leaving the nation, and those that had remained had relocated their headquarters to neighboring nations.

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honor at the 7th Ghana CEOs conference, Mahama claimed that Ghana had lost its reputation as the finest place to conduct business in West Africa because of the government’s agreement with the Fund to hike power and water tariffs quarterly.

Let’s endorse the competent Bawumia for victory 2024- Ali Suraj

Source

In an interview with GhanaWeb on Monday 5th June 2023, Hon. Ali Suraj, an activist, member of the New Patriotic Party, and former Organiser of the New Patriotic Party in the United States, pleaded with delegates to consider voting for Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s next Flagbearer in the impending delegate conference.

When making a decision, he encourages the delegate to consider history, competence, achievements, dedication, and loyalty.
He further claims that, in the global economy, digitalization has taken centre stage, and that the New Patriotic Party requires someone with the necessary qualifications to lead Ghana towards the digitalization drive in order to keep up with the speed in the digital world.

“History has it that the Danquah, Dombo, Busia tradition is the oldest political tradition in Ghana that dates as far back 1947, Chief Dombo represented the Northern territories through the Northern peoples party ( NPP).

“Busia who hails from Wenchi in the Ahafo Region was the prime minister from 1969 to 1972 who helped to restore civilian Government following military rule has been fully represented by the John Agyekum Kuffour Administration and Now J.B Danquah is fully represented by this current administration ( President Nana addo Danquah Akufo Addo).

“I think is time we rally behind Dr Bawumia who may represented Dombo and who many has said to the most active vice president since independence , the 2008 election petition is evidence that Dr Bawumia needs to be rewarded for his contribution when the party needs Men to represent them, he has able to distinguished himself during the court case and from then he became the darling boy of the grassroots of the party .
“Let bring someone who is a unifier and multilingual, who can bring unity among the rank and file of the party, what amazes me is his relationship with the Christian community and how well he relates with them. We need a leader who is tolerant and can bring all sects under one umbrella to move as a united nation void of any ethnic disagreement.

“His leadership role cannot be questioned and I think when given opportunity he will deliver because he is the only person who can bring all the candidates together at the end of the primaries due to his leadership skillsas as a united front,”he noted.
Then, Ali Suraj outlined some of Dr. Bawumia’s measures that, in his opinion, merit praise and should be taken into account when delegates are selecting the flagbearer.

As examples of the vice president’s accomplishments, he cited the use of drones for delivery, digitization, gold as a substitute for oil, paperless port systems, GhanaCard, and digital address systems.

OH, LORD! BLESS AMA GHANA WITH A MAN OF VISION

FEATURE:

It’s yet another time of the season and an opportunity in the life of a patriotic Ghanaian to exercise their franchise. However, on the side of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the battle to lead the party to break the eight has already begun.

A few of the patriots appear to be unaware of the fact that, since we are electing a candidate for Ghanaians to buy into his, the most crucial factor to examine is our chances and how marketable our candidate is, instead, some enjoy giving themselves false hope and promoting tribal bigotry – what a shame.
Literally, for a virtuous woman who wants to determine how good her cassava is, she puts it on fire. In the case of the NPP and breaking the eight mantras, we do not need God to descend from the Heavens to remind us to elect a marketable, relevant and visionary person as the flagbearer to ride on the back of the mighty elephant for victory in the 2024 general elections.

Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the vice president of Ghana who not long ago officially joined the NPP flagbearership race by picking up his nomination forms is among the bigwigs projected to succeed Nana Addo, the President of Ghana.
Not that I am discouraging anyone ooo, hmm, but you all would attest to the fact that for the past few weeks, the declaration of support for Dr. Bawumia by CEOs, chiefs, party chairmen, grassroots and party faithful including the hierarchy of our party has been overwhelming, this should send a clear signal – indeed the signal is connecting. This is not to stop any candidate because our party believes in democracy and equal opportunities.
Until Dr. Bawumia himself withdraws from the race, which I know for sure won’t happened, no man born out of a woman can rule him out unless He who gives life.

Dr. Bawumia continues to give us hope for how far he has made the office of the vice president relevant.
It is quiet unfortunate how some of us didn’t witness the regime of some past vice presidents since independence, however, we’ve read and heard about their impacts, all thanks to records.
Unlike his predecessors, Dr. Bawumia has not limited himself to the constitutional role of merely being a representative of the president at meetings and events, however, he has fronted numerous transformational projects; this has not only brought light to the NPP but has also impacted the lives of Ghanaians who were bereft of hope. A case is when one Dr. Emmanuel Achampong, a lecturer of U.C.C nearly lost his flight from Germany to Ghana but for the timely intervention of the Ghana Card.
Not forgetting the initiatives Dr. Bawumia has spearheaded aiming at leveraging technology to improve service delivery and create a more efficient economy, the reason he is called Dr. Digital.

It is evident that Dr. Bawumia has not only given the vice presidency new relevance, but has also set a precedent for yaanom to reshuffle their leadership in parliament for the economic battle come 2024 as stated by Asiedu Nketia.
Dr. Bawumia even as a vice president has already done more, just imagine when he is made the main man.
Why would God not bless Ghana with such a leader?
The scriptures even say by their fruits we shall know them.
Do not be deceived, connect to the signal!

Source

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has received the support of the former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress for President.
The statement “Bawumia has been born for Ghana” was made by him.
The former Central Regional Chairman is adamant that if the Vice President is elected President, Ghana will undergo a radical transition.

Allotey Jacobs refers to Dr. Bawumia as the “anointed” one and claims that his critics will be unable to bring him down.

He claims to be Ghana’s “best brain” for bringing digitalization and changing the country’s history.
“Bawumia was conceived in Ghana. On Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show, Allotey Jacobs said, “The brains of Bawumia is to change Ghana, is to change the narrative of this country.
A person who dares to damage Dr. Bawumia’s reputation will receive the shock of their lives, the estranged NDC member continued, emphasizing that “you can’t destroy an anointed person.”

“If you dare to damage Bawumia’s reputation, you will experience the shock of your life because you cannot ruin an anointed person… Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is the finest candidate to defeat the eight, he warned the NPP.

Competent Bawumia sad over 85 year old cured leper’s death

Source

The most credible Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia gave the 82-year-old woman a two-bedroom house as a present in September 2020, but she has since passed away.

After the Vice President saw a JoyNews documentary by Seth Kwame Boateng called “Withered Skins” that featured Daari Pogo, he took notice of her situation.
Madam Poga, who lived on the outskirts of Gurungu in the Upper West district, lost four of her ten children and was abandoned by the rest, so she was left to live with her granddaughter Adjara in a decaying five by six metre mud home.

The Vice President came to her aid by providing food and toiletries among other things in less than 24 hours after her story was broadcast on all JoyNews platforms.

He then made the commitment to construct Madam Pogo a respectable house. The two-bedroom home was built and equipped in less than six weeks before being delivered to Madam Daari.
Dr. Bawumia expressed his deep regret upon learning of the now 85-year-old woman’s passing in a Facebook post today.

Competent Bawumia is above all the aspirants – Prof. Kingsley Nyarko

Professor Kingsley Nyarko, the Member of Parliament for the Kwadaso constituency, has publicly voiced his support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the most deserving candidate for the New Patriotic Party‘s (NPP) flagbearership position.

According to him, Bawumia has delivered his role as vice president of Ghana with exceptional skill and effectiveness, making him a strong contender for the party’s highest leadership position.

Speaking in an interview with Pure FM on May 29, 2023, Professor Nyarko referred to Article 60, Clause 6 of the Ghanaian Constitution, which states that the vice president shall assume office for the unexpired term of the president in the event of their death, resignation, or removal from office.

He emphasized that the primary responsibility of the vice president is to support the president. Therefore, to assess Bawumia’s suitability for the flagbearership, one must evaluate his performance in fulfilling this role.

He went on to say that Bawumia has unquestionably proven himself as a capable leader, highlighting his accomplishments and impact.

He further used the initials of Bawumia’s name to describe him as one of the best candidates in the race.

According to Prof. Nyarko’s acronym, Bawumia represents the qualities of being the “Best achiever or accomplisher with unique unmatched… masterclass ideas above all the aspirants.”

“The Constitution of Ghana, Article 60, when you read Sub-clause 6… it says whenever the president dies, resigns, or is removed from office, the vice president shall assume office for the unexpired term of the office of the president with effect from the date of the death, resignation, or the removal of the president… all those who will contest have the capacity to lead, but why do we have to choose the vice-president? We choose him to come and support the president. So, you have to ask yourself, the work that he came to do, was he able to do it? Did he make any impact?

“If the answer is no, then it means he doesn’t qualify to be considered, but this is somebody who has become vice president, and all of us attest to the fact that the man has acquitted himself so well, he has worked in terms of supporting the president’s agenda… take a pen and write Bawumia vertically, so B stands for best, A, achiever or accomplisher, W, with, U, Unique/unmatched, M masterclass, I ideas, A, Above all the aspirants,” he said.

Meanwhile, five flagbearer hopefuls have picked up their nomination forms to contest the race. They include former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Francis Addai-Nimoh, former General Secretary of the NPP Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, and Dr. Owusu Afriyie, former minister of Food and Agriculture.

On the other hand, other notable figures like Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Assin Central MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, and Alan Kyerematen are expected to pick their nominations in the coming days for the election, which is set for November 4,2023.

In a televised speech to the country on May 28, 2023, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo thanked Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for serving as his deputy.

The Vice President was singled out by the President for his continuous support during trying times, despite the President’s acknowledgment of the crucial role played by government authorities in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I am indebted to the Ministers of State, officials of the Presidency, led by the Chief of Staff, the Parliament and the Judiciary, and all the members of the brilliant COVID-19 Taskforce. I must make special mention of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who was my reliable source of support in the darkest and most trying moments,” President Akufo-Addo stated.

In addition, President Akufo-Addo thanked a number of people, organisations, government agencies, and the labour movement for their support in Ghana’s fight against the pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana was officially proclaimed over by the President at the speech. “In general, since the first case was confirmed in our nation on March 12, 2020, there have been two million, five hundred and thirty-eight thousand, one hundred and ninety-eight (2,538,198) positive cases from two million, five hundred and thirty-eight thousand, one hundred and ninety-eight (2,538,198) tests,” he said, providing the statistics.

Moreover, booster doses were given to 4,599,883 (four million, five hundred and ninety-nine thousand, eight hundred and eighty three) persons.

These facts served as the basis for the significant choices reached on May 17 by the COVID-19 Taskforce, which was presided over by President Akufo-Addo. The President declared that all COVID-related limitations at airports and entry points have been eliminated, bringing the situation in terms of health entrance requirements back to what it was before COVID.
In addition, President Akufo-Addo emphasised the recently secured $3 billion IMF economy assistance facility, which he hopes would help Ghana’s economy recover from the pandemic’s effects.
But President Akufo-Addo didn’t waste any time in emphasising that the IMF loan won’t put an end to the country’s economic problems right away.

The FICSOC is said to prevent, rapidly detect and share information as well as respond to possible cyber threats targeted at the financial industry and ultimately the country at large.

He congratulated the BoG as usual for setting the pace in Africa as well as charging the financial players to take full advantage of the capabilities of the FICSOC, while continually strengthening in-house security operations.
