Let’s endorse the competent Bawumia for victory 2024- Ali Suraj

Source

In an interview with GhanaWeb on Monday 5th June 2023, Hon. Ali Suraj, an activist, member of the New Patriotic Party, and former Organiser of the New Patriotic Party in the United States, pleaded with delegates to consider voting for Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s next Flagbearer in the impending delegate conference.

When making a decision, he encourages the delegate to consider history, competence, achievements, dedication, and loyalty.
He further claims that, in the global economy, digitalization has taken centre stage, and that the New Patriotic Party requires someone with the necessary qualifications to lead Ghana towards the digitalization drive in order to keep up with the speed in the digital world.

“History has it that the Danquah, Dombo, Busia tradition is the oldest political tradition in Ghana that dates as far back 1947, Chief Dombo represented the Northern territories through the Northern peoples party ( NPP).

“Busia who hails from Wenchi in the Ahafo Region was the prime minister from 1969 to 1972 who helped to restore civilian Government following military rule has been fully represented by the John Agyekum Kuffour Administration and Now J.B Danquah is fully represented by this current administration ( President Nana addo Danquah Akufo Addo).

“I think is time we rally behind Dr Bawumia who may represented Dombo and who many has said to the most active vice president since independence , the 2008 election petition is evidence that Dr Bawumia needs to be rewarded for his contribution when the party needs Men to represent them, he has able to distinguished himself during the court case and from then he became the darling boy of the grassroots of the party .
“Let bring someone who is a unifier and multilingual, who can bring unity among the rank and file of the party, what amazes me is his relationship with the Christian community and how well he relates with them. We need a leader who is tolerant and can bring all sects under one umbrella to move as a united nation void of any ethnic disagreement.

“His leadership role cannot be questioned and I think when given opportunity he will deliver because he is the only person who can bring all the candidates together at the end of the primaries due to his leadership skillsas as a united front,”he noted.
Then, Ali Suraj outlined some of Dr. Bawumia’s measures that, in his opinion, merit praise and should be taken into account when delegates are selecting the flagbearer.

As examples of the vice president’s accomplishments, he cited the use of drones for delivery, digitization, gold as a substitute for oil, paperless port systems, GhanaCard, and digital address systems.

OH, LORD! BLESS AMA GHANA WITH A MAN OF VISION

FEATURE:

It’s yet another time of the season and an opportunity in the life of a patriotic Ghanaian to exercise their franchise. However, on the side of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the battle to lead the party to break the eight has already begun.

A few of the patriots appear to be unaware of the fact that, since we are electing a candidate for Ghanaians to buy into his, the most crucial factor to examine is our chances and how marketable our candidate is, instead, some enjoy giving themselves false hope and promoting tribal bigotry – what a shame.
Literally, for a virtuous woman who wants to determine how good her cassava is, she puts it on fire. In the case of the NPP and breaking the eight mantras, we do not need God to descend from the Heavens to remind us to elect a marketable, relevant and visionary person as the flagbearer to ride on the back of the mighty elephant for victory in the 2024 general elections.

Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the vice president of Ghana who not long ago officially joined the NPP flagbearership race by picking up his nomination forms is among the bigwigs projected to succeed Nana Addo, the President of Ghana.
Not that I am discouraging anyone ooo, hmm, but you all would attest to the fact that for the past few weeks, the declaration of support for Dr. Bawumia by CEOs, chiefs, party chairmen, grassroots and party faithful including the hierarchy of our party has been overwhelming, this should send a clear signal – indeed the signal is connecting. This is not to stop any candidate because our party believes in democracy and equal opportunities.
Until Dr. Bawumia himself withdraws from the race, which I know for sure won’t happened, no man born out of a woman can rule him out unless He who gives life.

Dr. Bawumia continues to give us hope for how far he has made the office of the vice president relevant.
It is quiet unfortunate how some of us didn’t witness the regime of some past vice presidents since independence, however, we’ve read and heard about their impacts, all thanks to records.
Unlike his predecessors, Dr. Bawumia has not limited himself to the constitutional role of merely being a representative of the president at meetings and events, however, he has fronted numerous transformational projects; this has not only brought light to the NPP but has also impacted the lives of Ghanaians who were bereft of hope. A case is when one Dr. Emmanuel Achampong, a lecturer of U.C.C nearly lost his flight from Germany to Ghana but for the timely intervention of the Ghana Card.
Not forgetting the initiatives Dr. Bawumia has spearheaded aiming at leveraging technology to improve service delivery and create a more efficient economy, the reason he is called Dr. Digital.

It is evident that Dr. Bawumia has not only given the vice presidency new relevance, but has also set a precedent for yaanom to reshuffle their leadership in parliament for the economic battle come 2024 as stated by Asiedu Nketia.
Dr. Bawumia even as a vice president has already done more, just imagine when he is made the main man.
Why would God not bless Ghana with such a leader?
The scriptures even say by their fruits we shall know them.
Do not be deceived, connect to the signal!

The former Central Regional Chairman is adamant that if the Vice President is elected President, Ghana will undergo a radical transition.

The group claimed that all of its members across the nation’s diverse constituencies contributed to the fund-raising effort.

Dr. Bawumia, the vice president, has formally announced his desire to compete in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primary elections.

The NPP’s candidate for the pivotal general elections of 2024 will be chosen in the primaries scheduled for November 2023.

Dr. Bawumia is the best candidate to lead the party due to his leadership qualities, according to the group’s National Chairman, Eric Kwabena Twumasi Ankrah, during a gathering at the Cultural Centre in Kumasi.

He claimed that the vice president is inherently superior to all other contenders because of his humility and regard for regular Ghanaians.

He said that Dr. Bawumia “has all the qualities to lead the country. He is very respectful and knowledgeable.”

The vice president, according to Mr. Ankrah, has been able to start a number of projects, the most notable of which is his ability to digitalize nearly every industry in the nation. He came to the conclusion that none of the contenders has the skills necessary to challenge and defeat Dr. Bawumia.

He declared that the group is ready to support the vice president in any way.

Upon their return from the Kumawu by-election, he said, “We will wait for them at the party’s office in Accra and hand over the money to him, any amount we are ready to pay for him.”

Millicent The group’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Elizabeth Boateng, said that people shouldn’t believe that the vice president gave them the money because it was actually raised internally among the group’s members.

She said the group has long backed Dr. Bawumia and will do all it takes to ensure his success.

The Ashanti Region’s Kumawu electorate has been urged by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia to cast their votes for Mr. Ernest Yaw Anim, the NPP’s parliamentary candidate in the next by-election.

At the late MP Philip Basoah’s funeral on Saturday, President Nana Akufo-Addo and other senior government officials were there. Dr. Bawumia afterwards told NPP supporters: “In this by-election, we want the whole of Ghana to know that Kumawu is NPP’s territory.”

“With love, come out in your numbers to vote for our parliamentary candidate Ernest Yaw Anim to win this by-election,” said Dr. Bawumia.

Competent Bawumia is the man of the people; sends a clear signal

During his talks with New Patriotic Party (NPP) stakeholders in various Regions, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia received a resounding backing for his ambition to be the party’s flag bearer.

Source

Dr. Bawumia has started consultations with important party members and outside parties over the past few weeks to let them know of his intentions and then to ask for their support before he formally announces his candidacy for the vacant NPP Flagbearership for the 2024 election.

Before meeting with important party blocks, including the crucial Majority Caucus, to formally advise them of his decision, sources claim he first contacted President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Former President J.A. Kufuor, and other stalwarts of the NPP.

The Vice President is claimed to have informed and sought the permission of numerous traditional and religious officials around the country in order to show respect for these institutions, a critical step that his rivals skipped over.

By engaging with important stakeholders from throughout the Regions over the past two weeks, Dr. Bawumia has moved his focus to honoring the NPP’s regional structure, and the responses have been overwhelmingly positive.

He recently traveled to the Western North, Western, Central, Volta, and Oti Regions where he encountered ecstatic party members who were unreserved in their support for him.

Dr. Bawumia visited the three Bono and Ahafo Regions, the Ashanti and Northern Regions, as well as other places this week.

The Vice President has received a ton of support in each of the regions he has traveled to.

A former campaign manager for Alan Kyerematen, a candidate for the position of flagbearer, shocked the ebullient Regional party stakeholders in Volta Region when he announced his support for Dr. Bawumia.

Kofi Dzamesi, a former close associate of Alan Kyerematen, stated that “Dr. Bawumia is the only one who can break the 8 for the NPP and I support him.”

Numerous people charged outside in the Bono Region when Dr. Bawumia was locked in a meeting with the party stakeholders, yelling his name and demanding he address them.

The Vice President complied, but he stopped short of openly announcing his ambition to be the flagbearer.

Instead, he praised the tense audience, urged party cohesion, and reassured them that the administration would continue to function.

In the Ashanti Region, which is the NPP’s heartland, nothing changed.

Major players in the Region, including constituency executives, publicly screamed Bawumia’s name and vowed their unwavering support for him while praising his dedication and fidelity to the party.

Anthony Amankwaa, the constituency chairman for Oforikrom, summarized the feelings of his fellow Ashanti Regional constituency chairmen when he noted that they had long recognized Dr. Bawumia’s major contributions to the party and government and had been working hard for him.

“Dr., the campaign (to elect you) didn’t begin today. Together with our Chairman, Wontumi, we started the initiative a long time ago. Since we are already working, there is even no need for us to speak today. May God bless you,” Chairman Amankwaa said to thunderous applause from his colleagues. “We will see you through, and we trust you will go and break the 8 for us.

Collins Addai of Atwima Mponua, a different chairman, praised Dr. Bawumia for his enormous contributions to the NPP’s electoral success, highlighting in particular the areas where the NPP had historically struggled until the rise of Dr. Bawumia.

As he continued with his important stakeholder engagements in the Upper West, Savannah, and Northern Regions, the pattern of widespread stakeholder endorsement, favorable testimonies, and enthusiastic grassroots support for Dr. Bawumia persisted in the North.

Only time will tell what lies ahead as the NPP opens nominations for the presidential race the following week and Vice President Bawumia prepares to make a formal public declaration to start what promises to be a historic journey.

However, the early signs indicate that he will lead the NPP into the upcoming elections as the front-runner and the supporter.

The Delegates Will Reward Competent Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for His Sacrifices and Loyalty to the Party

Source

In this write-up, I would like to bring to bare the sacrifices, loyalty, dedication and commitment exhibited by H. E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from the time of his nomination as a running mate in 2008 to the victory won in 2016. The previous write-up unearthed some of the untold contributions of Dr. Bawumia to the NPP government and by extension NPP in the former president J. A. Kufuor’s government.

Dr. Bawumia was working at the Central Bank of Ghana as a deputy governor. He was appointed by former president Kufuor. He was enjoying his work there as he was contributing his quota to the development of that sector and Ghana as a whole. Little did he know that he will be selected as a running mate to the then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo in 2008. However, he made a very risky but important decision by leaving his job at the Bank of Ghana and accepting a running mate slot that was not a guarantee that he will automatically become the Vice President of Ghana. This decision he took, marked the beginning of his sacrifices for NPP.

The New Patriotic Party went into the 2008 general elections with Dr. Bawumia as its running mate. He toured the length and breadth of the country, canvassing for votes for the party to retain power and possibly break the eight then. Unfortunately, the party lost power to the then largest opposition party.

After the 2008 general elections in Ghana, Dr. Bawumia had many high-profile job opportunities and among them was Resident Representative of the African Development Bank for Zimbabwe. He worked there for some time until he was called by his boss, Nana Akufo-Addo again to partner him for the 2012 Ghana’s general elections for the second time. Dr. Bawumia answered the call again to serve NPP by leaving that enviable position again at the AfDB. The love of Dr Bawumia for NPP is undoubtedly unquantifiable evidence by the critical sacrifices he has made so far for the party.

The delegates saw how Dr. Bawumia campaigned vigorously in 2012 general elections. He committed himself to the course of the party and as usual travelled across the whole country severally until the D-Day where he cast his vote in Kperiga in the Walewale constituency. The declaration of the results was not in favor of the NPP.

The NPP as a law-abiding party did not resort to violence but rather filed a petition at the Supreme Court to challenge the electoral process and the results of the elections. A very important question is that, who was the key witness to the NPP’s petition in court? Dr. Bawumia! It will interest you to know that no one was ready to enter the witness box but Dr Bawumia availed himself despite the potential political risk associated with it. I am aware he was advised against the decision to enter the witness box but for his love and loyalty to the party, he opted to defend the party. He defended the party creditably well while in the witness box at the Supreme Court.

Interestingly, National Democratic Congress (NDC) also went to court in 2021 following the declaration of the 2020 general elections after unsuccessful street protest amidst burning of car tyres on major roads in parts of the country. There was a clear difference between Dr. Bawumia as a key witness to the 2012 general elections’ petition and Mr. Asiedu Nketiah (General Mosquito) as a key witness to the 2020 general elections’ petition. The famous calculations by General Mosquito and I did not bring any figure to court in mind. Dr. Bawumia as a witness exposed a lot of flaws in the electoral process in the Ghanaian elections in 2012 and there is no doubt that it helped in shaping and guiding subsequent elections in Ghana. He sacrificed his time, family, job, resources, among others and stayed to the course of NPP until the final judgement was made. It must be stated clearly that the 2012 general elections’ petition ran for a period of eight months continuously. This kind of sacrifices can only be made by the only and only delegates’ choice, Dr Bawumia.

The undesirable results of the Supreme Court judgement in 2013 did not dampen the spirit of Dr. Bawumia at all as he continued his efforts in getting NPP back to power. In fact, he did not even look for any job again but devoted his all to the party’s course. He fought hard in 2016 general elections and finally, God delivered victory to the party. It is a common knowledge that the victory of NPP in the 2016 elections was largely attributed to the ever loyal, dedicated, committed and hard-working Dr. Bawumia.

As a result of the sacrifices and unflinching loyalty of Dr. Bawumia to the party and Nana Akufo-Addo, he has been selected as a running mate for four consecutive times to partner Nana Akufo-Addo. This is unprecedented in the history of the fourth republic of Ghana if not the whole of Africa. This rare opportunity can only happen to a rare gem like H. E Alhaji. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In conclusion, it is evident that Dr. Bawumia’s sacrifices and loyalty to the NPP is noticed by both majority of delegates and non-delegates alike within the party. The delegates are saying that, the massive support Dr Bawumia is enjoying today is earned through the many sacrifices he has made and continue to make for the party. Hence, the delegates are ready to reward him with a resounding victory on 4th November, 2023 to lead NPP in the 2024 general elections to break the eight.

H. E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, president of Ghana, 2025. It is possible, In Sha Allah. Thank You

Alhaji Salifu Hadara

Ghana’s Inspiring Strides towards a Digitised Economy: Dr. Bawumia’s Digital Drive, a Man of Vision

A Credible Politician

BY : ENOCH OWUSU-APPIAH

Located in West Africa, Ghana is widely known for its beautiful culture and stunning natural beauty. However, in recent years, the country has gained recognition for its impressive advancement in digitisation, thanks in large part to the efforts of the most effective Vice President in Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Under his leadership, the government has implemented several policies and initiatives aimed at leveraging technology to improve service delivery and create a more efficient economy. The implementation of the Ghana Card, Digital Address System, Mobile Money Payments Interoperability System, etc, in Ghana, have been the cornerstones of this digital transformation.

The Ghana Card initiative is one of Dr. Bawumia’s most notable accomplishments in the field of digitisation. The Ghana Card is a biometric national identity card that is intended to collect personal information and biometric data from all Ghanaian citizens and residents.
The Ghana Card is a critical component of the country’s digitisation goal as it provides a secure and reliable method of identifying citizens and residents. This, in turn, improves access to public services such as healthcare, education, and social assistance programs not forgetting its security benefits.

The digitisation agenda has also extended to the health sector, with the implementation of the Medical Drone Delivery System. It is the world’s largest medical drone delivery network which is operated by Zipline International and makes on-demand delivery of medical supplies to about 2,000 health facilities. The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) was not left out in the digital revolution. The mobile renewal service allows NHIS subscribers to renew their insurance using their mobile phones, thus reducing the need for physical visits to NHIS offices. The new addition is the E-pharmacy which allows subscribers to enter drug prescriptions and make requests, the system also allows subscribers to be linked to multiple licensed pharmacy shops online to compare prices and be assured of quality medications.

In the finance sector, the government through Dr. Bawumia has implemented the Mobile Money Interoperability system, which allows for seamless transfer of funds between different mobile money platforms. This system has helped to increase financial inclusion in Ghana by making it one of the first nations to employ a universal QR Code payment system that accepts both bank accounts and mobile wallets. This project has also made Ghana the fastest-growing mobile money market in Africa, with over 36.9 million registered mobile money accounts.

One of the key pillars of Ghana’s digitization agenda is the National Digital Property Addressing System (NDPAS), also known as the Ghana Post GPS. The system was launched in 2017 to provide every property in Ghana with a unique digital address, making it easier for citizens to identify their location and access various services. The system is accessible via a mobile app, which allows users to search for addresses and also provides directions to the location.

Another significant initiative under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership is the paperless port system. The system, which was implemented in 2018, aims to reduce the time and cost of doing business at Ghana’s ports by digitising the entire process. With the paperless system, all documentation is done electronically, reducing the need for physical inspections and enabling real-time tracking of cargo.

Dr. Bawumia was also instrumental in the implementation of Ghana’s e-procurement system, which aims to streamline the procurement process. The e-procurement system is an online platform that allows government agencies and private-sector organisations to publish tenders and receive bids from vendors. The e-procurement system has helped to minimize corruption, improve transparency, and increase efficiency in the public procurement process by digitising the procurement process. This, in turn, has resulted in significant cost savings for the government and enhanced service delivery to citizens.

Dr. Bawumia’s initiatives to accelerate digitisation in Ghana have had a substantial impact on the country’s progress. The use of digital solutions in many different sectors has not only increased productivity and minimised costs, but it has also increased transparency and accountability.

As the world continues to embrace digital solutions, Ghana’s digitisation efforts under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership serve as a shining example of what can be achieved with political will, vision, and commitment to innovation. The country is well on its way to becoming a digital hub in the region, and Dr. Bawumia’s vision and contributions will undoubtedly be remembered as a critical part of this success story.

‘Policy-less’ John Mahama runs away from competent Bawumia’s 1 question

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia

With his more than three decades of public service, most credible vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has condemned former president John Dramani Mahama, calling him a politician without any policies.
At a public event in the Ayawaso Central Constituency, Bawumia declared he would keep asking John Mahama the same question in the future because he thinks the former president will never be able to provide an answer.
“I asked John Mahama one question, he has not yet answered it. So far, I asked him just one question.

“I say, John Mahama, you have been Assemblyman, you have been deputy minister, you have been minister, you have been vice president, you have been president; over the last 30 years, so tell us one policy we can associate with you over 30 years of political life,” he stressed.

The first time Bawumia launched the ‘attack’ on Mahama was at a party rally last month in Mpraeso in the Eastern Region.

“Just one, not two, one policy that you can say, as for this one, John Mahama did it. He has not yet answered it and he cannot answer it,” Bawumia said to cheers from the audience as he is flanked by Greater Accra Regional minister, Henry Quartey.

“So, if he cannot answer one question, then I wouldn’t bother with 700 questions this time around. I would just leave it at one, I am waiting for the answer and in the future, I will keep asking,” he added.
Though he has not publicly declared his candidature, Bawumia is widely regarded as the front-runner in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership race expected to take place later this year. Senior aides have promised that he will run to lead the NPP into the election of 2024.

Currently on a national campaign tour, John Mahama is vying to be chosen as the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) flagbearer in the 2024 elections. A primary election scheduled for May 13 will pit him against Kojo Bonsu and Kwabena Duffuor.

‘Away with the negativity’ – Credible Bawumia to naysayers

credible politician

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has provided data to back his claim about the 2 million jobs created.
Dr. Bawumia over the weekend when speaking about youth employment and opportunities during the national Eid-ul-Fitr Fitr celebration at Independence Square made mention of job created by his government.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday while demonstrating why he is one of the credible and most effective vice president in Ghana, Dr. Bawumia provided facts and comprehensive data to back his claims.
The post which contained the Ministry, the organisation or department of the Ministry, and the total number of employment created from 2017 to 2022 under each category was somewhat aimed at his critiques and naysayers.
Below is the Facebook post with and image of the data:
“Dear friends, I recently stated that our government has created over 2 million jobs since 2017. As usual, the naysayers have questioned how we could have done so. Their mindset of impossibility prevents them from accepting that. Well, the data attached shows year by year, ministry by ministry, and agency by agency, the jobs that our government has created since 2017. This excludes jobs under planting for food and jobs and the National Identification Authority. Away with negative thinking! It is possible!”
