SAMMY GYAMFI LIES

Sammy Gyamfi ‘exposed’ over ‘lies’ about the National Mosque.
The National Communications Director of the major opposition party (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has once gotten himself in trouble after being ‘exposed’ for his recent comments concerning the National Mosque.

“As for the ridiculous claim that the mosque was funded through a grant from the Turkish government, it could only have come from a desperate propagandist trying to justify his opposition to the construction of the National Cathedral by making baseless claims about the National Mosque. These claims by Sammy Gyamfi are not only lies and a shameless attempt to score cheap political points for former President Mahama, using the National Mosque, but it is also disrespectful to Ghanaian Muslims, and the philanthropic NGO, which fully funded the construction of the Mosque. Sammy Gyamfi can go on with his anti-National Cathedral campaign; that is his business and not our concern. But in pursuing his propaganda, he should leave the National Mosque out of it, and he should stop giving credit to people for roles they did not play”, the Zongo group’s statement unequivocally disclosed.

ECONOMIC CHALLENGES NOT AKUFO-ADDO’S DOING- IMF BOSS

Kristalina Georgiva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, has denied claims that Ghana’s economic troubles were self-inflicted rather than caused by the Russian/Ukraine war and Covid-19.
According to her, the country’s economic problems are not the result of terrible government policy.

She reaffirmed her organization’s commitment to striking an economic accord with the government before the end of the year.
Madam Georgiva told Joy News’ Benjamin Akakpo during the Africa Adaptation Summit in Rotterdam, Holland, that Ghana will receive IMF assistance.
“I’m very determined for us to indeed reach an agreement with Ghana by the end of this year [2022]. We started very constructive discussions already. And to the people of Ghana, like everybody on this planet you have been hurt by exogenous shocks; first the pandemic, then Russian/Ukraine war”.

“And that we need to realise that it’s not because of bad policies in the country, but because of these combinations of shocks. Therefore, we have to support Ghana because you are a member, you are a strong country, and you have fantastic people”.
She emphasized how smoothly the conversations between Ghana and the Fund had been going.

“We have to support Ghana because your strength contributes to the strength of your neighbors, it contributes to a stronger world”.
Upon being asked if Ghana would receive the $3 billion that the government has requested, Madam Georgiva responded, “Let’s go to the negotiations, and then you will know.”

NPP WILL BREAK THE EIGHT- CHAIRMAN COKA

Chairman COKA calls for early NPP congress
The former chairman of the Kwabre South constituency, Mr. Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has pushed for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to call an early congress to choose the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.
This, in his opinion, would greatly aid the party in addressing all issues that would arise from the competition.
He has therefore urged the newly elected National Executives of the Party to submit a paper to the NEC asking it to consider an early congress rather than the one year to the elections that the Party’s constitution calls for when it is in power.

The call was made by Chairman COKA, as he is known in the political sphere, on Friday 26th August during an exclusive interview with Nhyira 104.5 FM, a local radio station in Kumasi.
The former head of the Association of NPP constituency chairmen and a candidate for NPP chairman of the Ashanti region in the 2022 conference, COKA, predicted that the party would break the eight.
I’m telling you that efforts are being made to break the 8 in any way necessary.
He claims that the NPP has already begun working on all of the identified challenges.

He informed the show’s host that ” We will be discussing our third term victory when you see me here in the following two years. We are making every effort to avoid the apathy that negatively impacted us (NPP) in 2008, he emphasized.
COKA asks Ghanaians to be patient with the government in light of the current economic crisis.
He assured Ghanaians that Nana Addo’s administration is working tirelessly to bring the country to the Promised Land.
“We will undoubtedly arrive in the Promised Land before 2024.”
Let us all be patient with the government and contribute our fair share to the economic recovery agenda.”

Concerning the cedi depreciation, Chairman COKA once again urged all Ghanaians, particularly traders, to refrain from purchasing dollars locally in order to relieve pressure on the dollar.

“We all have a role to play in terms of cedi depreciation,” he said. To relieve pressure on the dollar, our businessmen and women must refrain from trading or purchasing dollars in their transactions.
He bemoaned the fact that some individuals purposefully stir up panic about the dollar rate in the economy, and that this must be stopped.

SUSPEND AZIZ FUTA- SLYVESTER TETTEH BEMOANS

Hon. Slyvester Tetteh, Member of Parliament for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfrom constituency, has called for the suspension of Aziz Haruna Futa, NASARA Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party, for what he [Sly] refers to as “religious incitements.”

Hon. Tetteh stated on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, “Aziz Futa is one person I would like to see the party suspend. You probably heard what he said at the party’s Islamic Thanksgiving Service… That was religious incitement, and he should be punished for it “He stated.
When the show’s host, Philip Osei Bonsu (OB), drew his attention to the fact that the General Secretary reprimanded Aziz Futa on the same occasion that he made those statements, Hon. Tetteh retorted, “It’s not like the General Secretary reprimanded Aziz Futa on the same occasion.” “That is insufficient. He must be kicked out of the party. Aziz owes a national apology to the party and must be sanctioned “He was emphatic.

In a related development, Slyvester Tetteh urged the General Secretary to take disciplinary action against Hon. Samuel Atta Akyea for endorsing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential bid.

To ensure fairness, Hon. Tetteh believes that the party’s code of conduct must be followed to its logical conclusion. “The party cannot invite Hopeson Adorye and Ekow Vincent Assafuah over similar remarks while allowing my senior, Hon. Atta Akyea, to go free,” Hon Tetteh stated emphatically.

ABLAKWA LIES, CAUGHT AND ASKED TO APOLOGIZE OR BE SUED

The Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has asked that the North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, retracts and apologizes for the falsehood that he was Secretary for the National Cathedral in 2019 since its incorporation.

According to Ablakwa, Godfred Yeboah Dame was registered as Secretary of the National Cathedral Board while also serving on the board of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), which approved the contract for the project design.
“It is quite revealing to observe that when the National Cathedral was incorporated on 18th July 2019; the then Deputy AG, Godfred Dame was registered as Secretary. During that same period, he served on the board of the PPA which approved Adjaye’s irregular sole sourcing contract”, Okudjeto Ablakwa wrote on his Facebook page.

Reacting to this claim, Mr. Dame dismissed the claims of breaching conflict of interest rules in processes leading to the incorporation of the National Cathedral of Ghana as a private company.
According to the Attorney-General, the allegation against him “is utterly false.”

In responding to the question, he explained that “the National Cathedral of Ghana was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee (non-profit making entity) on 18th July 2019.”
“Quite clearly, at the time of the approval by PPA (on whose governing board I served in my former capacity as Deputy Attorney-General), no company known as the National Cathedral of Ghana had been formed for me to be Secretary of, or have any purported interest in to declare. I could not have had a so-called interest in a non-existent company. If Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa had cared to read or examine the relevant documents well, as he should have, this plain fact would not have been lost on him,” he explained.

He further stated that, “for the avoidance of doubt, I state that my role as Secretary (not a director or a member) to a not-for-profit company owned by the State does not present me with any personal interest which conflicts with the performance of my functions as a Minister.”
“The record reflects the fact that even in respect of companies limited by liability (profit-making entities), the State regularly appoints public officers, including Ministers, to serve as members of the board of directors to protect the public interest where the State is a shareholder,” he added.

THE CREDIBLE BAWUMIA WILL BE GHANA’S NEXT PRESIDENT- ANNOR DOMPREH

Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Majority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam/Adoagyiri, believes Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia will be the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer and will win the 2024 elections.

As the NPP prepares to select a successor to President Akufo-Addo as party flagbearer, many believe Dr. Bawumia and Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen are the front-runners.
Dr. Bawumia, on the other hand, was an open choice for Frank Annoh-Dompreh.

He made the announcement at a conference to elect NPP constituency officers in the Nsawam/Adoagyiri constituency.
“John Mahama has contributed.” He should leave and not run again, but by God’s grace, Dr. Bawumia will be Ghana’s next president,” he said.
According to political observers in Ghana, the NPP’s flagbearership race will be a watershed moment for the party, as it will either make or break the party.

Freddie Blay, the party’s National Chairman, has already stated that he believes the party will emerge unscathed and more formidable to win the 2024 elections.

“Certainly, it will not be easy. When the party held internal elections in 2008, there were as many as 17 candidates. I believe they will be significantly lower this year.”
“We need unity; we need to put our differences aside and support the candidate who can break the 8. “Breaking the 8 is not just a slogan; it will become a reality,” he said in an interview with Citi News.

Ablakwa lies against GAF

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have refuted assertions made by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu in the Volta Region, that there is unrest within the Armed Forces’ rank and file.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP’s assertion is not only a pleasant falsehood, but also unfounded, according to the GAF.

According to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, “there is some kind of unease within the ranks of the Ghana Air Force due to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-preference Addo’s for luxurious aircraft operated by a foreign crew,” according to a story published by an electronic media on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, the Public Relations Directorate, General Headquarters, Burma Camp, Accra, issued a statement denying the infamous MP’s comments.

“We wish to state unequivocally that this allegation is untrue and without basis,” according to the statement signed by Commander Andy La-Anyane, Acting Director of Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces.
He indicated that personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces are rather excited with high level of moral as result of the support the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has done for them in terms of retooling of the Forces for smooth running of operations and accommodation provided for the troops and their families.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the morale of personnel, not only in the Ghana Air Force as is being alleged, but the entire Ghana Armed Forces has never been at a very higher level.
Personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces appreciate the numerous additions that the government has made for the smooth running of operations, including accommodation for troops and their families, vehicles to enhance mobility, review of salaries amongst many others.
“Troops also appreciate the efforts being made by government in retooling the Forces with the acquisition of a number of platforms including war ships for the Ghana Navy, Armoured Personnel Carriers for the Ghana Army, various aircraft including strategic lift for VIPs for use by the Ghana Air Force and many others.

“It is also important to state that the fighter squadron of the Ghana Air Force is currently being retooled by government to augment the professional posture of the Ghana Air Force.”
“The Ghana Armed Forces therefore admonished the general public to treat the allegations of disquiet within the ranks of the Ghana Air Force with the contempt it deserves”.
Serving warning notice to Ablakwa and other politicians over politicization of the Forces, the GAF further stated that “Additionally, we wish to entreat all Ghanaians, including politicians, not to drag the Ghana Armed Forces into partisan politics. Our mandate as captured in the 1992 Constitution is to defend the territorial integrity of Ghana and we should be allowed to focus on our mandate.
“Finally, we wish to assure the general public once again that morale of troops is very high.”
