‘ALLOWANCE IN ARREARS IS BETTER THAN ALLOWANCE CANCELED’  – TRAINING NURSES

During Dr. Bawumia’s Youth Connect event in the Bono Region, a final year nursing trainee ‘confronted’ him on the delay in the payment of nursing training allowance. In response, Dr. Bawumia assured to take the matter up with the Ministry of Finance and ensure the allowance is paid to them.

True to his words, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Bawumia announced there has been release of GHS 177 million to the Ministry of Health to settle outstanding allowances owed to nursing trainees nationwide. Speaking at a gathering with trainee nurses in Accra, he assured the disbursements will be made swiftly.

Reports speculated today speaks to trustworthy and honesty of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as training nurses have received their allowances. Training Nurses with glee and excitement took to social media to show their appreciation to Dr. Bawumia for listening to their plea and the swift intervention.

After receiving and they expressing their appreciation, the training nurses hit at the perennial presidential candidate of the NDC, John Mahama, and other critics. ‘Allowance in arrears is better than allowance canceled’, they remarked in unison.
